Loading... Please wait...A major component of MyBlueBoost is the battery. That's why we spent months evaluating battery technology. After a painstaking analysis and confirmation of our findings, here is what we have selected:
The circular 18650 lithium-ion cell.
We chose it for many reasons, two of which are it's tremendous energy density and it's huge capacity of 2600 mAh!

We use a special version of this battery; one that has a protection PCB built right into the battery. This provides a double layer of protection as the internal electronics of MyBlueBoost already contain charging and discharging protection!
Here are a couple of users of the 18650 lithium-ion battery:
Tesla Motors uses a total of 6,831 lithium-ion 18650 cells in the 53-kWh, 450-kg battery pack of its all-electric Roadster —which, by the way, goes from 0 to 60 in four seconds.
